![]() ![]() Take any computer science class at a university and you'll find that the majority use Linux.įinding information online for Windows or even someone to help you is lightyears ahead of anything Linux provides Developers, the people who actually write the documentation and the guides on how to use software, use Linux on the whole. I'm actually struggling to come up with the name of a website whose web server runs Windows Server. You seem to be arguing under the notion that no one uses Linux, when in reality Linux is incredibly prevalent in enterprise. ![]() I've been a Windows user for my entire life and not once has the troubleshooter ever actually solved a problem I've been having.įinding info online is stupidly easy for Linux, too. The Windows troubleshooter is literally a meme. What isn't Windows 10 even providing that warrants this pain in the ass work? It's secure, performs better, supports a great deal of hardware without user intervention, has significantly larger userbase for support and an official support and everything works for it. And it's community is convinced that making the UI look like Windows means that anyone can get into it. ![]() Linux is not user friendly, it's friendly to people who already have known how to use it. Did you know you can't just turn off mouse acceleration? Or IPv6? Did you know Linux will actually install 2 active wireless drivers at the same time that can conflict with each other and basically kill your internet speed? Steam has a bug that causes it to send a shit ton of DNS requests and then gets blocked causing your download speed on Steam to basically halt to nothing? ĪND ALL OF THIS, you are dealing with all of these problems, and the entire time you're wondering why the hell you wouldn't just use Windows and get on with your life. Not including the basic lack of fully functioning printer/scanner drivers, the non existent Qualcomm drivers the fact if you have any issues at all you're at the mercy of a community to help you figure it out which is not always going to help you and just drags out problems longer.Įven as someone in IT and a massive power user, seemingly simple problems for Windows turn into hours of going down a rabbit hole online trying to fix it. Way to many things are stuck behind editing config files or typing out commands.
